What kind of climbing do you usually do ?
I do a lot of sport climbing and in the summer more remote alpine climbing, especially in the Dolomites.
-
What gives you the most fun when route setting ?
I love to propose challenges to all types of climbers of all levels and see them focusing on and enjoying the movement spirit.
-
What angle of wall do you prefer to set on?
Slightly overhanging walls
-
What style of climbing do you prefer to set?
Tricky athletic climbing
-
How do you make a route awesome?
A good route is a combination of aesthetics, finetuned movements and a coherent difficulty
-
What is the important thing for you when choosing climbing holds?
Making good holds explores one of the artistic aspects of climbing; the holds must attract visually, the prehension should feel right, and the grain must caress your skin, ow yeah!
-
Can you give us your view of the trend towards volumes in wood and fiberglass?
Volumes make the climbing like a show and that way it can attract a large public
-
Can you give us your opinion on the evolution of indoor climbing?
Last years it evolved towards gymnastics and so indoor climbing goes its own way, very different from the outdoors where it's derived from. But still as the indoor training can boost a lot the outdoor performances, on the other side the original values from the outdoors should still be the ones to lead the climbing spirit!

Do international competitions influence your choice of holds or volumes ?
Yes. But the new and the old school have to live together !
