Agripp Partners with Binary Holds: A New Era for Recycled Macros in the United States
At Agripp, we are proud to announce our brand-new partnership with Binary Holds, an innovative Canadian company specializing in the production of macros made from recycled plastic. This collaboration marks a crucial step in our commitment to more eco-friendly climbing.
Why is this partnership important?
Our goal with this alliance is clear: to offer locally produced macros for the American market (North and South). By working with Binary Holds, we not only reduce delivery times but also minimize the environmental impact of international transportation. Moreover, the macros produced through this collaboration are made entirely from recycled plastic, a significant advancement for sustainability in the climbing industry.
An Innovative Approach to Recycled Materials
All macros produced by Binary Holds will be dedicated to the American market. These holds feature cutting-edge technology that optimizes the use of recycled materials:
- Black ABS: Standard black ABS macros are made from 100% recycled content. This material is particularly suited for fully textured holds.
- White ABS: While primarily composed of recycled plastic, a virgin coating is added to ensure a pristine color.
- Eco-Friendly Grip: The grip on the macros is made from an innovative blend of recycled glass and epoxy.
A Circular Vision for the Future
Our ultimate dream? To create a complete recycling loop for macros. We aim to collect used holds, remove the grip, and remelt them to produce new macros. This circular approach could transform the industry by further reducing our environmental footprint.
What’s Next?
Currently, we are digitizing certain hold ranges to share with Binary Holds to initiate production. If everything goes as planned, the first macros will leave the factory by the first quarter of 2024. This is a milestone we eagerly anticipate!
This partnership between Agripp and Binary Holds reflects our shared commitment to a more responsible and sustainable climbing industry. Together, we are redefining standards in quality, ecology, and innovation.
Stay tuned to follow the next steps of this exciting project. The future of climbing starts here!
